Apple Crisp

Since it is still the beginning of fall, I wanted to celebrate fall with a 'seasonal' treat, Apple Crisp. I love the tart taste of the sour apples and the sweet crumble on top. I am a personal fan of Apple Crisp.

                 INGREDIENTS
            ~ 4 medium green apples
~ 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
            ~ 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
            ~ 1/2 cup oats
~ 1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
            ~ 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
            ~ 3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

MY PROCESS/DIRECTIONS (With pictures)

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees
First cut your apples into thin slices
I used a cool little doo-hicki that my family has had forever!

I had to cut mine into slices afterwards

Set the apples aside, and yes they will brown a little bit, but it's not a big deal.
Next, make the 'crumble' crisp part.
Pour 3/4 cup of brown sugar into a mixing bowl

Then the 1/2 cup of flour

Then add the 1/2 cup of oats

After that, SOFTEN, not melt 1/3 cup of butter and add it to the mixture

For the seasonal taste, add 3/4 teaspoons of both cinnamon and nutmeg

nutmeg

Mix all together

Now take the apples and spread in a greased, 8 inch, square pan
and sprinkle/spread the crumble part over it.

Pop in the oven and bake for 30 minutes

After you take it out of the oven, let cool, and serve up by it'self or with ice cream :)

YUM!!!
