Be Bright Pink {With Aerie}

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. At first, I wasn't going to do much for Breast Cancer Awareness month, but then last week I was inspired to do a big to-do about it. I went shopping last Sunday, and Aerie had beautiful pink bras in their display window, and beautiful pink panties for sale. You could donate money to Bright Pink, a non profit organization. They focus on risk reduction and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women. Aerie was had leaflets on their counter about Bright Pink. I love donating money to charity and especially since it's breast cancer awareness month, I donated to Bright Pink. I received an Aerie pink nail polish to wear on my nails and raise awareness! I was also given a little pink card to write who I support. I support all women with breast cancer or who are breast cancer survivors. They are all warriors.
What's neat is they put these cards all over the cashier counter and on the wall of the store. They put them in the design of the breast cancer ribbon. It's so cute and very creative. I was so excited to contribute to the ribbon.
So, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, I decided to purchase some pink panties for the occasion and show them off proudly.
I knew I wanted to make something to raise awareness to put on the blog post, and the first thing that came to my mind were cupcakes! Of course cupcakes! I am the cupcake girl!
For my aunt's baby shower, we made pink champagne cupcakes, and my mom suggested that we make those again for this occasion.
I melted white chocolate after the cupcakes were baked, and I piped breast cancer ribbons on wax paper for them to dry. I also traced the Aerie logo with white chocolate to dry. I'm so happy with how they turned out!
I am so proud of my cupcakes! I decorated some with the white chocolate breast cancer ribbon and Aerie logo, and the mini cupcakes are decorated with a bubble gum Jelly Belly jelly bean. These cupcakes are so delicious.
I made the cupcakes to raise awareness. Awareness has been raised in my home and with this blog post, I hope to raise awareness even more. It doesn't have to be October for you to be aware of breast cancer or even for you do something about it. You can do something about it any month of the year. Donate to breast cancer research, run in a Susan G. Komen run, hold fundraisers, be BOLD, Be BRIGHT PINK!
Here are my other purchases from Aerie.
Be BRIGHT PINK!
Last year, I did a cancer project through my school, CAL. My group and I did cancer research and our goal wasn't just to get a good grade, but to raise awareness. The color we used was lavender, the lavender ribbon represents all cancers. Here is the post about our cancer project. It was within a tradition through CAL, History of Medicine. Cancer was a new subject that CAL introduced to the History of Medicine tradition, and we were guinea pigs in the cancer trial. I think it went well, there some things we could have done more, but it was a success.
If you don't know where to donate to breast cancer research, you can visit an Aerie store now through the end of October.
Here is Bright Pink's website, and Aerie with Bright Pink's website.
I am going to go back to Aerie and purchase a Bright Pink bra. I love it!
Tomorrow I will be wearing the ribbon to raise awareness!
Also, speaking of bras and breasts, I have some fun news! I have started watching Lifetime's Double Divas, and one of the ladies from Double Divas followed me on Instagram! I was super excited!
It was really neat!
Let's be BRIGHT PINK!
