Grapefruit Essential Oil Benefits & Uses
I have been using my essential oils for almost a week now, and I am really enjoying them. I have been using my diffuser everyday, and I really enjoy the diffuser on while I study or get ready in the morning. I bought the grapefruit essential oil originally for drinking, but I thought that I might do some more research on this oil. After I did some research to see what else this oil can do, it is now my happy oil. Grapefruit essential oil can do a lot of things for the body and mind.
For Beauty:
-Grapefruit essential oil can help control acne. Just add a drop to your facial moisturizer, or mix a drop of it with some witchhazel and rub it on your face with a cotton ball. Always make sure to dilute the oil first before putting it on your skin. Citrus oils are extremely powerful, and you want to be careful when applying the oil to your skin. Always remember to dilute!
-Grapefruit essential oil can treat dandruff, and is effective in oil control in hair. Just add a drop of grapefruit essential oil to your shampoo, and rinse as normal.
-grapefruit essential oil is not just for controling oil in your hair, but also for oil control for your face. Again, just add the essential oil to your facial moisturizer to help control facial oil.
-This is not really "beauty", but it has to do with applying the oil topically- Grapefruit essential oil is a natural antiseptic, and when applied to the skin (diluted of course. That should be given!) it can treat bruises, cuts, scrapes, and wounds.
-Grapefruit essential oil can help treat cellulite. Either add the oil to a lotion, or to coconut oil and apply to the area you want to treat. Apply and rub the area with the diluted grapefruit essential oil every evening for the best results.
For Health:
-Grapefruit essential oil can suppress appetite. It is great for when you have a sugar craving, or any craving really. You can either take it in pill form, drink a glass of water with a drop of Grapefruit essential oil, or just inhale it from the bottle. Not only does it help with cravings, but it also reduces the desire for binge or emotonal eating. You can diffuse the grapefruit essential oil if you do not want to inhale it directly from the bottle.
-The digestive system could use a little support after a large meal, and grapefruit essential oil can help stimulate the digestive system by drinking water with an added drop of essential oil, or by adding it to coconut oil and rubbing it on the abdomen.
-Citrus oils help energize, so to overcome fatigue, and perk up a bit, you can diffuse grapefruit essential oil, or apply it with a lotion or coconut oil over your chest. This can also help with a morning wake up, and jet lag.
-grapefruit essential oil can be used for cardiovascular support. You can add a drop to lotion, or coconut oil and massage toward your heart.
-Grapefruit essential oil can also help the urinary system. It promotes good kidney health. You can add it to water dor drinking, or coconut oil for applying topically on the abdomen.
-If you are suffering from stress, add some grapefruit essential oil to a glass spray bottle and spray it in your hair, or diffuse in the room to uplift and calm.
-For migraine headaches, you can apply topically to your temples, or diffusing it to help relieve a migraine.
-If you suffer from withdrawl, grapefruit essential oil can help alleviate that. You can diffuse the oil, or apply it topically to the neck.
-For a mini detox, add grapefruit essential oil to your water or smoothies. It helps rid the body of toxins, excess water, fats, uric acid, unnecessary fats, and sodium.
-Grapefruit essential has antiviral, and antimicrobial properties, so it helps fight off infections.
If you drink the essential oil, please add only one drop to a larger glass reciprocal. Please do not drink water with added essential oils from a plastic reciprocal. The essential oil could eat through the plastic, or leach out the plastic toxins that are present in the water bottle.

I love drinking grapefruit essential oil. It is so refreshing, and it is like a natural energy drink. It really does give me a boost of energy. I tend to get heavy eyes in anthroplogy class because it is after lunch, and the room tends to be fairly warm. I drink my water with grapefruit essential oil in it before and during class, and I don't feel tired. I used to have to prop my eyes open, but now I am just fine! My anthropology class is in no way boring, it is quite interesting. I get tired due to heat in the room, and being full from lunch. I was very lively in class today, and I do believe that it was all due to the energy release of my grapefruit essential oil. See, it is a happy oil! ;)
I hope you all had a great Wednesday! Wish me luck on my chemistry midterm tomorrow!
