Jumping On The Bandwagon

January should just be called the "get healthy month" because everyone and their mothers set a resolution to get healthy in January, and hopefully carry it out the rest of the year. While that is excellent goal to have, I am, however weak when I see a plate of cookies, or a pan of brownies, I often cannot help myself. I am trying to remedy my sugar intake, and balance my meals, and eat more raw things. I am starting off slow, I know that I should begin cold turkey, but when I do that, I become miserable, and go back to my old ways. When I ease into it, I develop healthy habits, I develop a healthy routine, and I end up carrying those healthy habits and the healthy routine with me through the year. I wanted to share with you my first day of developing healthy eating habits, the tools that I use to help me in other ways.
I have been using essential oils daily, and dutifully for about three months now, and I have gained a large sum of knowledge to guide me through using essential oils correctly, safely, and daily. This morning, I decided to do an essential oil routine that would pep me up. I put Orange and Pine in my diffuser, Grapefruit and Jade Lemon in my water, and I put a drop of Valor on my wrists. I wanted a morning routine with my oils to help cleanse, to perk me up, and to help balance. This collection of oils does just that, plus the Pine aids in better breathing, and sometimes I need that.

The oil combination this morning motivated me to make a lunch that involved good things. It involves protein, whole grains, dairy, and good fats for your heart. I made a gourmet toasted cheese sandwich with organic, uncured turkey bacon, organic whole grain bread, sharp cheddar cheese, and sliced avocado. Instead of butter on the outside of the bread, I used olive oil. I just cooked the bacon first, then oiled the bread, and layered the cheese and bacon on one slice of bread in the frying pan, and then put the other slice of bread on top... You all know how to make a toasted cheese sandwich, just layer the cheese and bacon together so the cheese melts and kind of locks the bacon inside the sandwich. When it is done, put the sliced avocado on top of the sandwich. It is delectable!
A way of detoxing for the holidays, and collecting other great benefits is from oil pulling. You swish around coconut oil in your mouth for about 15 to 20 minutes. I am adding an essential oil to boost it. You do not swallow the oil, it is full of toxins, you spit it out, and you swish mouth wash, or water with peppermint oil to rinse your mouth out; brush your teeth after. Oil pulling has so many benefits, it defrizzes hair, whitens teeth, clears your complexion, hydrates your body, keeps your gums healthy, boosts immune system, and so much more. I am going to start it up again! I haven't done it in over a year, and I would like to start it up again! So I am. I am putting a drop of Thieves in the coconut oil to boost my immune system, and kill off the bad germs.
So, I will continue to share about how I am making my life healthier. I am trying to conquer these next few months. I have some huge plans, and I making them happen, but I need to make myself healthier so I feel better about myself. When I feel confident, I have no doubts, and I am motivated! I am going to try and keep this up.
