Mamma Chia

There are many, many health drinks out there, and they are all special in their own way. The many health drinks come in different forms to please those who like different tastes, and textures. Today, I am talking about Mamma Chia. I was inspired by a blogger, and then later by a woman in my ceramics class. I had seen them in Target, Whole Foods, New Seasons, but wasn't too fond of something floating around in my drink. I am not a pulp girl, it doesn't appeal to me. I was a little nervous to try it out, due to some people in my family having stomach aches and bad reactions to chia seeds, I didn't want to buy it, and then get sick from it, but I thought that I might as well try it. Mamma Chia is a great beverage in my opinion. It offers so many benefits, and I love the fact that it is organic, and all natural.
I decided to purchase a vitality drink, and an energy drink to mix it up a bit. I am not one for energy drinks, but since it is naturally caffeinated, I thought it would be better. It turned out to be a wonderful, mild energy booster; I was feeling a but sluggish yesterday, and it perked me right up. It helped me get some things done. Like I said above, I am not fond of things floating around in my drinks, but Mamma Chia is an exception. The chia seeds are soft, but somewhat firm, they just slide along with the drink, and they don't sink down to the bottom like other "pulpy" things. Chia seeds offer natural energy, and they deliver Omega-3s. They also help keep you full, due to their absorance of water; when they are filled up with water, they take up more space in your stomach, keeping you full for longer. I didn't feel that it kept me full for long, although they are just chia seeds, and as mighty as they might be, I don't think the protein they offer is sustainable for more than an hour.
Mamma Chia sometimes puts cute sayings on the bottom of their lids, I had a cute saying on the energy beverage lid, but not on the vitality beverage. I thought it was a nice touch. I do love the beverage, it is quite tasty, and I don't mind the texture one bit. They would be a wonderful, healthy snack for on-the-go, I love snacks, even as an adult. If I go too long without some kind of sustenance, I get crabby. I should find the Mamma Chia snack pouches, those would be a great addition to my tote bag for classes. They would be fast snack that wouldn't make my car a mess, plus I wouldn't feel guilty about that snack. Another factor that I love about these beverages is that they are a gluten free, and vegan product; now I am far from a full blown vegan, and I am a glutton, but every once in a while, I like to have foods that are free from glutton, and free of animal products. I like to embrace the power of mother nature's super foods from the earth.
When I buy food stuffs, I like to check the ingredients to see how simple they are. I am getting to the point where most of what I buy, and most of what I consume are of simple ingredients, and ingredients I can pronounce, and recognize; that is what Mamma Chia's ingredient list consists of, simple, pronounceable, recognizable items that I feel good about putting in my body.
I will definitely be purchasing more Mamma Chia in the future, it is such a fun-to-drink beverage, and I cannot wait to to try all of Mamma Chia's products.
