4 Ingredient Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Cookies
I have been doing many, many beauty posts lately, that it is time to switch it up. I had the idea of making something simple this morning before class, and last night as I was scrolling through my Pinterest, I found this awesome cookie recipe. I have had a peanut butter obsession for a couple of weeks now, so as you can guess it (and see by the title), I have made some delicious chocolate chip peanut butter cookies today. These are very simple and only take about 20 minutes to make. These cookies have two great factors, they are gluten free and they only require four ingredients. I posted gluten free peanut butter cookies a couple of weeks ago, and I became easily addicted to the peanut butter cookies, and fell under the same spell with these cookies.
I found these cookies from a lovely, little baking blog called Gimme Some Oven. It's a cute, little blog that talks about life, baking, and food in general. I am definitely going to check out Ali's blog more to grab up some of her amazing recipes.
I slightly tweaked Ali's 4-Ingredient Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip cookie recipe by cutting the sugar in half, and adding a pinch of salt. So, technically it is 5 ingredients, but the pinch of salt is totally optional.
Here is what you need:
-1 cup creamy or crunchy peanut butter
-1/2 cup sugar
-1/2 cup chocolate chips
-1 egg
-pinch of salt (optional)
Here is what you do:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, and prepare a cookie sheet however you would like. Preferrably with parchment paper. Put all of the ingredients into a small mixing bowl, and combine the ingredients with a strong spoon. Keep stirring and mixing the ingredients together until the peanut butter becomes dough like. Scoop out some dough, ball it in your hands, and flatten it slightly in your hands. Place the flattened cookie dough on the cookie sheet. Bake cookies for 7:00 minutes. Let them sit for about 10 minutes to let the chocolate settle.
These cookies are quite crumbly, but I love crumbly cookies. It made taking photos a little difficult, but after I got them set up, it worked out. They turned out delicious! I like the salt in the peanut butter cookies because it is a blend of sweet and savory. I have an idea of what I could do with these cookies. Maybe I could crumble them up into crumbs, and make a pie crust or cheesecake crust with them for peanut butter chocolate pie, or peanut butter chocolate cheesecake. That will be my next foodie adventure and I can't wait to share it with you.
Share with somebody who has a sweet tooth, or make a plate for a friend who is gluten free.
Have a great Monday!
