Holiday Updo Inspired by Kassinka

I am totally braid obsessed. When I see a beautiful, braided updo, I have to give it a try. I found this beautiful updo from this amazing hair blog, Kassinka that I stumbled upon while scrolling through Pinterest. I was so excited to try it because I wanted to up my hair game for the upcoming holidays. It is actually pretty easy to do, it just takes a little time to complete. After the updo is all put up, it is so pretty.

Here is what you need:
-a comb/brush
-about 10 mini elastic hair bands
-a ton of bobby pins

Begin with combing or brushing your hair to make it smooth and easier to work with. Separate your hair into five or more sections, and tie them off with the mini hair elastics.
Braid all sections, and tie them off. Like Kassinka, I alternated between Dutch braids, and fishtail braids to give the updo some added texture.
It is best to pull the braids into lose, bigger braids to allow the braids to be pinned flat against your head. You do not have to pull the loops of the braids, but I like how it makes the updo look. Kassinka says that it makes the updo look kind of like flowers, but I think it just makes it look really neat, and textured.
Now, take the bobby pins, and make five (or however many sections you separated your hair into) little buns on the back of your head with bobby pins, pinning as you make the braided sections into buns. I recently bought those curved bobby pins from CONAIR, and I love the way they work, and the way they hold my hair into place.

I absolutely love the way this updo looks. It is so pretty, and I can't wait to wear it up for Christmas Eve on Thursday.
Lately, I have been into messy buns, intentional messy hair, and amazing braids. This updo has it all. Let me know how it works out for you. :)
