Portland Adventures

We first went to Pip's Original Donuts on Freemont. I went there a couple of years ago, and since then, they have expanded their shop. Before, it was kind of a tiny shop, but they must have bought the next door building so that they can expand. It looks great! Brittany and I each bought 6 doughnuts, and a coffee. I got three nutella doughnuts, and three candied bacon and maple doughnuts. If you aren't familiar with Pip's Original Donuts, they make mini doughnuts only. I love that about them! It gives the shop more character, and it is extra cute. To mention their coffee, their coffee is so delightful. It is a joy to sip. I am definitely going back soon, and bringing some music to listen to, and possibly a book or a magazine to look through while I enjoy some doughnuts.

Since there isn't many shops on Freemont that is within appropriate walking distance in the rain from Pip's Original Donuts, we decided to go to Hawthorne. There are so many fun shops and so many interesting people on Hawthorne, it was a great idea to adventure down to Hawthorne. We went to a few second hand shops that were, in the best word to describe it, interesting. We went to a few boutiques that had cute set ups. We went to this one boutique called Sloan. It was so pretty, and I loved the refurbished old building it is in. They carried so many cute brands, and while it was a little bit expensive, it was still really fun to browse through. Usually, clothes shopping is not fun for me. I don't feel confident in clothing stores, but with Brittany, I felt comfortable shopping. Shopping with a friend is way more fun than shopping by yourself. I actually looked through thr racks at each item, and gave myself quick mental thoughts about each piece. Everything was so cute! There was a lot of boho outfits there, and pretty shirts. It is such a cute boutique. The sales girls were so helpful. They helped get different sizes if need be, and they helped put outfits together. I first found this boho-hippie dress. I thought it was cute, and something out of the normal for me. I would like a few boho pieces in my wardrobe, plus it was on sale! I decided to give it a try, but unfortunately, success was not to be had for the boho dress. I saw these pretty shirts hanging up in the dressing room area, and decided to give those a try. This time, the shirt worked out! I loved the way that I looked in t-shirt, and I loved the cut and the length. I decided to go for it, and I can't wait to wear it out! Sloan was great boutique, and I definitely want to make my way back there soon.

After the Sloan boutique, we walked down a little ways to American Apparel, and just browsed around. Maybe I am not totally with modern style, or possibly I don't quite understand some of the styles out now, but you have to have a very special kind of style for American Apparel. It all amazed me. Next to American Apparel was this awesome shoe shop, Imelda's and Louise's Shoes. Brittany wanted to go in because she spotted Hunter boots. There were some adorable lavender boots in the window, and for a while, Brittany has been wanting some good rain boots, so we decided to stop in. She tried on a couple pairs of Hunters, and decided to buy an adorable black pair of slim tall boots. I am so excited for her! She is already loving her boots, and they look awesome on her!

Today was such a great day! I love hanging out with Brittany! She is a lot of fun, and we always have a lot of fun together. It was a very successful Portland adventure today!
